How DFTOs Work
In Direct-Fired Thermal Oxidizers, exhaust gases containing VOCs or HAPs are fed into a combustion chamber where they are exposed to high temperatures (typically over 1400°F). The pollutants are oxidized rapidly, breaking down into carbon dioxide and water vapor. Unlike other thermal oxidizers, DFTOs do not employ heat recovery, focusing solely on fast and efficient destruction of pollutants.
